MMTC Commends AT&T's Investment of $14 Billion In Broadband ...

The Minority Media and Telecommunications Council (MMTC) praises AT&T?s recent announcement that it will invest $14 billion over the next three years in both wired and wireless broadband build out as part of its new Project Velocity IP (Project VIP).? This major commitment by one of the world?s largest communications companies can help strengthen and expand America?s broadband infrastructure for the benefit of consumers.

Through Project VIP, AT&T emphasizes its commitment to investing in America?s economy and future, bringing next-generation high-speed broadband Internet-protocol (IP) based services to more consumers and businesses nationwide, particularly the underserved and unserved.?IP is the common language almost all forms of technology can understand that enables seamless communication of voice, data and Internet applications among various devices (TVs, laptops, mobile smart devices, etc.).??IP-based services are high bandwidth broadband services that can provide important consumer benefits in the areas of education, healthcare, energy and public safety.?
